Ramona was born amidst the urban sprawl of the New Jersey Metropolis. She never knew her mother and father who died when she was very young. After that she only had her older brother Kieran. He looked after them both.

They found ways to survive and ultimately became members of a street gang known as “the Dreads”. Daniel, the gang leader, ran a lucrative little sideline in corporate sponsored mercenary work and Ramona and Kieran fitted nicely into his team.

Things were going well when a job went bad. Most of the merc team, including Kieran, were killed. Ramona fled, enlisting in the United Nation’s Marine Corps to get as far away as she could.

She travelled off-world with the 54th Marine Infantry Battalion and, due to her natural aptitude for recon and unarmed combat, did well.

After a few years she transferred to a Special Forces unit but eventually mustered out after failing to see eye-to-eye with one of her superiors.
